Campervan Hire Australia: Where's Woolloomooloo?

Posted on 5 November 2009

Campervan Hire AustraliaWoolloomooloo is a harbourside, inner-city eastern suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. In the below video, poor old Justin just can't get over how many "o"s are in the name. Fair enough: Even Monty Python's Flying Circus have had a laugh about Woolloomooloo, referring to it in a sketch.

According to Wikipedia, Woolloomooloo is home to the Finger Wharf building, which the Guinness Book of World Records cites as the largest wooden structure in the world at 400 metres (1,310 ft) long, 63 m (210 ft) wide and standing on 3,600 piles.

In the mid 1990s the wharf was renovated into a hotel, restaurant and apartment complex. Russell Crowe lives in a penthouse there, they reckon.
