British Columbia and Alberta – 8 days
Day 1: Pick up rental motorhome in Vancouver, British Columbia
Day 2: Vancouver to Lac le Jeune in Kamloops (430km, 5.25 hours)
Day 3: Lac le Jeune to Jasper (450km, 5.5 hours)
Day 4: Jasper to Lake Louise (230km, 2.75 hours)
Day 5: Lake Louise to Banff (60km, 1 hour)
Day 6: Explore Banff
Day 7: Banff to Calgary (120km, 1.75 hours)
Day 8: Depart Calgary
Enjoy the beauty of the Rockies, the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver and the freedom of the open road on this eight-day trip. In Vancouver you'll find world class shopping, dining and culture, not to mention a temperate climate and gorgeous surroundings. Once you've had your fill, head to Lac le Jeune and the provincial park there, a place where you can enjoy everything from fishing to hiking amidst tranquil forests and pristine lakes. This drive will also give you the opportunity to explore the beautiful cities of Banff and Jasper and the imitable beauty of Lake Louise. You can explore Vermillion Lakes in Banff National Park or check out the view from the summit of Sulphur Mountain. In Jasper you won't want to miss the Athabasca Falls, River and Glacier after which drive out to Lake Louise where you can hike, canoe or swim. On your trip back to Calgary you may want to make a stop at the beautiful Yoho National Park.
Lac le Jeune Provincial Park There are 144 camping sites at Lac le Jeune, including vehicle accessible ones. These sites are open April to October and a fee is charged from May to September. Reservations can only be made from May to September. The park is accessible during the winter months for activities like cross country skiing if the weather permits.
