Fredericton
Photo: NB Department of Tourism and ParksFredericton is New Brunswick's provincial capital. Nestled alongside the St. John River, it's known as Atlantic Canada's Riverfront Capital, a city that has a friendly and warm small town feel but with the diverse atmosphere of a bigger city.
Tree-lined avenues dotted with Victorian architecture complement a lively cultural scene of National Historic Sites, galleries and museums, outdoor cafés, award-winning festivals, riverfront trails, a safe, walkable downtown, championship golf and lots more.
Fredericton is found on the River Valley Scenic Drive and the starting/ending point of the Miramichi Scenic Drive. The scenic drives offer beautiful scenery, urban and rural experiences and a chance to see many New Brunswick towns and villages in your motorhome along the way.
Fredericton offers a central location and easy access (most of the city can be experienced in a 20 minute walk around the central area). It's a perfect starting point to explore Atlantic Canada by motorhome, being within a two hour drive to over 15 of New Brunswick¹s top attractions.
Fredericton is closer to Quebec and Ontario than any other major Atlantic Canadian city and is just a one-hour drive to the USA border and the I-95. Major highways from all points in the United States join the Trans-Canada in New Brunswick. The interstate-95 connects with the Trans Canada at the Houlton, Maine/ Woodstock, New Brunswick border - just a 1 hour drive from Fredericton. Fredericton is less than a days drive from Quebec City, Portland, Maine, Halifax and Charlottetown. The Bay of Fundy and the Hopewell Rocks the highest tides in the world are only 2 hours away by RV.
