Visit Ahipara On Your New Zealand Campervan Road Trip

Ahipara is a seaside village lying at the southern end of Ninety Mile Beach. Surfers come from all over the world to ply the waves here and at adjacent Shipwreck Bay. It's well worth a visit on your New Zealand Campervan Hire road trip. You can join in too by taking a surf lesson or hiring boards from Mark Shanks of Good Vibrations.

Behind the township is the Ahipara Gumfields Scenic Reserve, where prospectors once excavated kauri gum from the sand. Hike or join a Tuatua tours quad bike adventure to explore this, and Tauroa Point where transient seaweed gatherers pick agar.

Ahipara is noted for its shellfish, the succulent but protected toheroa, and the tuatua which may be freely gathered along the long slender curve of Ninety Mile Beach.

There are no Ahipara Campervan Hire depots to our knowledge, with most customers preferring to hire campervans in Auckland (which has a wide range of choice) or rent campervans in Whangarei (which has a limited number of campervan rental vehicles on offer).

Thanks to Tourism Radio for much of the content supplied about Ahipara. Tourism Radio is like having your own tour guide - providing you with audio commentary of over 2000 points of interest in New Zealand. It is available for rental with any Auckland Motorhome Rental vehicle booked on www.motorhomeandrvtravel.com
