Waipu Campervan Hire Holiday
Waipu was settled in 1853 by a group of Scottish Highlanders. The Waipu Heritage Centre commemorates the original pioneer settlers, revealing the history of this close knit community, while the self-guided Waipu Heritage Trail provides a scenic driving tour of the town’s original homesteads and historic places.
Other attractions include the Waipu Cove Wildlife Refuge which boasts breeding pairs of highly endangered fairy terns and the nationally threatened northern NZ dotterel, and the Waipu Caves where you can choose to take a guided or self-guided hike through the main cave which boasts impressive limestone formations.
Waipu is within easy reach of three excellent beaches offering safe swimming, fishing and surfing: Waipu Cove, Langs Beach, and Uretiti, the site of a Department of Conservation camp ground.
There are no Waipu Campervan Hire depots to our knowledge, with most customers preferring to hire campervans in Auckland (which has a wide range of choice) or rent campervans in Whangarei (which has a limited number of campervan rental vehicles on offer).
