Motorhoming in Chonburi
Chonburi is a province on the Bay of Bangkok. It’s an area of mountains, fertile plains, and in the south, warm and clear waters. There are many tourist attractions for visitors with a motorhome rental or campervan hire vehicle as well as quiet and busy resorts.
Services for Motorhome Rental vehicles
Good facilities for motorhome rental or campervan hire vehicles are available in most of the National Parks, and if no facilities exist then ‘free’ camping is allowed. If you intend to stay in the parks it’s always best to check with the park headquarters on arrival. The main tourist areas around Pattaya have a good choice of places to stay, and as with the national parks, if there aren’t any ‘official sites’ there’s no harm in finding a quiet spot, just check its no-ones garden though!
Top things to see and do
Visit the seaside village of Ang Sila. Many of the locals are skilled in making items from granite, if you’re looking for a unique present why not buy a pestle and mortar to take home, but don’t forget about your luggage allowance, these things can be very heavy!
The Underwater World Aquarium is home to a collection of marine animals from the Gulf of Thailand. Walk along the 105 metre underwater tunnel, or experience a feeding session from both above and below.
Visit all of Thailand’s best tourist attractions in one day at Mini Siam, a model village with miniature replicas of the most famous monuments and historical sites. The only downside of this is that the Giant Reclining Buddha really doesn’t have the same impact.
The Three Kingdoms Park is designed in line with Chinese Feng Shui. The park comprises of a 5-storey building, displaying oil paintings, and sculptures.
If you enjoy water parks visit Pattaya Park Beach Resort and Tower at Jomtien Beach. The park has a large whirlpool, giant slides, and when your hungry a revolving restaurant at the top of the tower.
Thai Alangkarn Theatre in Pattaya holds a show called ‘The Thai Extravaganza’. The show has hundreds of performers as well as state of the art lasers, surround sound, and pyrotechnic displays.
Tham Khao Cha-ang Song is a large cave complex with the most beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, it’s also home to rather a lot of bats, so beware.
Take a Coral Reef Submarine Tour from Pattaya. Visit the reefs of Ko Lan and Ko Sak in a submersible or semi submersible, great if you don’t like getting wet.
The area of Chonburi has lots more attractions such as temples, shrines and beaches, but these are just a few other kinds of attractions in the area for visitors in a motorhome rental or campervan hire.
