Thailand is renowned for its white sandy beaches, and whether you enjoy a private secluded spot or a beach that’s buzzing with people and activities you won’t be disappointed on a motorhome rental or campervan hire holiday in the region.  Some of these beaches are on islands, so you won’t be able to take you vehicle across, but hey are good for either a day trip or a place to relax at the beginning or end of you holiday.

Here are some suggestions by area:

Patong Beach is a both a popular and pretty beach and the largest in the area.  Its wide coastline has soft white sand and warm clear water as well as lots of entertainment venues and beach activities and water sports.

Kata Beach is the place to head if you want to relax and have some peace and quiet.  The beach is backed b palm trees and idyllic scenery, the waves can get quiet fierce here so if you enjoy surfing it’s a great option.

Railey Beach is surrounded by majestic cliffs and has a distinct desert island feel.  Although officially on the mainland it can only be accessed by boat.  The beach never gets crowded and the water here is particularly clear so it’s great for snorkelling.

Koh Pha Ngan
Party beach at Haad Rin is undeveloped and ideal for swimming, but that is not the only reason that it is popular.  Once a month it’s the location for the Full Moon Party, this is an all night event of drinking, dancing and music, so not ideal for those looking for tranquillity, the atmosphere is slightly more subdued during the rest of the month; but not too much!

Hua Hin
Hua Hin Beach is a popular haunt of both locals and tourists because of its miles of beach and its proximity to Bangkok.  There are plenty of things to do here and the beach slopes very gently into the sea making it ideal for people travelling with children.  The road from Bangkok is relatively straightforward and there are lots of places to stay for visitors with motorhome rental or campervan hire vehicles.

Lamai beach is probably the one of the beaches that is not too busy, unless its peak season, and not to quiet, and it has a good combination of things to do and places to eat.

Koh Phi Phi
You can only visit Maya Bay on day trips, but it’s a typical picture postcard beach; probably the most picturesque in the country.  Limestone cliffs surround and the beautiful bay which is an excellent place to swim and snorkel.

Thailand’s beaches have been one of the major reasons why the country has become so popular with holidaymakers, and now with a motorhome rental or campervan hire you can enjoy the freedom to stay as long as you like.
