Whether you come for sunshine, beaches or the Everglades, Fort Lauderdale is a great base for travellers on a motorhome rental or campervan hire holiday in southern Florida.

Services for Motorhome Rental vehicles.

The state of Florida has some great sites for RV’s, they have everything from electric hook ups to stores where you can buy those items which you forgot to pack as well as everything to make a perfect meal.  The amount of sites means that whatever time of year you visit there should always be a place for you and at a great price too!

Just minutes from the beaches, marina and shops of Fort Lauderdale Kozy Kampers RV Park is a convenient overnight stop, or somewhere for a few weeks if want.  It’s in the centre of everything, but you'd never know as the park has hundreds of trees which make it feel as if you're in the woods!

For landlubbers and sailors who enjoy a taste of luxury the Yacht Haven Park & Marina is situated on New River.  This club attracts some of the best yachts in the US, as well as some of the best RV’s!  Most of the 250 paved sites are located on the waterfront and have electric full hook ups and patios.

For something a little smaller Markham Park & Range offers good rates with all the essential amenities such as electric hook up’s, restaurant, pool, and activities right in the heart of the city, they’ve even got a model airplane field!

Top things to see and do

  • One of the top things to do in the area is take a trip into the Everglades National Park just under an hour from Fort Lauderdale.  Here you can try out airboat rides, on what look like boats with big fans on the back, try a spot of fishing, take wildlife tours to see beautiful creatures such as Black Leopards and Panthers.  They also have reptiles such as crocks, or if you’re really brave you could even try one of the night excursions.  This area has so much to do if you’re travelling in a motorhome rental or campervan hire why not spend a few nights to really discover what the area holds.
  • A holiday to Fort Lauderdale isn’t complete without a trip to the wonderful clean beachfront.  The long, wide, clean, sandy beach goes on for miles so you’ll never feel like a sardine!
  • On the subject of fish why not take to the high seas and do some deep sea fishing.  Even if you don’t know how you can still watch as the captain hunts down big fish such as sailfish, tuna, and kingfish.  You’ll probably get to see dolphin too.
  • If you’re a vintage car enthusiast the Antique Car Museum has an interesting collection of Packard’s which go out for a spin every now and then.  It also has some interesting memorabilia.

Fort Lauderdale and the Everglades is the perfect area for a motorhome rental or campervan holiday, not only are there a whole host of activities to try and wildlife to encounter, the weather is good (most of the time), and the roads are excellent, so why not give it a try?
