Happy Holidays Motorhomes

Our family enterprise was established in 1980 and it will be our pleasure to personally take care of you and assist with your individual travel arrangements - specially tailored for Western Canada and the USA - so you may experience a Holiday that exceeds your expectations.

Our motorhomes are all presented to you in immaculate condition. All motorhomes are kept in perfect interior, exterior and mechanical condition.

We take a real pride in the way we look after you during you vacation. Your transfer from the airport or your hotel will be arranged with your booking. When you arrive at our property, your motorhome will be waiting for you and will be travel-ready.
This means beds made, kitchen equipped and cupboards clean for your personal items.
Your motorhome will have full gasoline and propane tanks. You will also find many extras to make your trip more enjoyable (at no extra cost). See Whats Included for further details.

In the morning you will receive a full introduction to your motorhome and we will be happy to answer questions and discuss your plans. Of course we are always available, either in person or by telephone, to answer your questions and to be of help to you.

Happy Holidays Motorhomes Rental Terms

Payment
A non-refundable deposit will be taken from your nominated credit card at time of booking confirmation.  This percentage of the total fees will vary depending on the number of days your booking is placed before travel commencement. You can pay with Visa/Mastercard.

Holidays Motorhome reservations require a $500 payment to book in addition to your non-refundable deposit. The balance payment due will be deducted from your nominated credit card 65 days prior to the commencement of your rental. Please ensure there are sufficient funds available on your credit card card. Alternatively you can pay the balance directly into Happy Holidays bank account if you prefer, you can do this by contacting them directly to arrange this.  The renter will be responsible for all bank transfer costs.  If there are any shortages due to bank fees, they may be paid upon your arrival in Gibsons (Happy Holidays Depot).  We highly recommend that you purchase cancellation and medical insurance.

Note on foreign currency bookings: full balance of payment (including the deposit) will be collected at the time of confirmation if you have elected to process your booking in a currency different to CAD$. Some charges may be payable directly to your rental station upon arrival, these will be itemised as such in your breakdown of pricing if and where applicable.

Payment for some additional items like physical extras (chairs, camping equipment) or additional insurance covers may be payable on arrival.  If so these will be itemised as such.

All changes and cancellation charges are subject to taxes.

Currency:
All prices are stated in Canadian dollars.

Taxes:
The 12% HST has to be added to all prices.

Winterizing
Please note that during winter season (usually from 01 October but possibly earlier), the vehicles will most likely be winterized, depending on weather conditions. This means that all water will be drained from the vehicle and replaced with anti-freeze liquid. This means that there will be no access to the sink, toilet or shower.

Insurance:
A liability insurance up to $5,000.000.00 is included in the rental price.  A deductible of $4,000.00 must be deposited with us before your departure. (Various damages, for example to the underbody and roof, objects on the roof, tires and rims are not covered.  Likewise, there is no coverage for break-ins, theft and vandalism.)  Please note that the required amount will be charged to your credit card.  If there is no damage to the vehicle, we will credit your charge card account  for the full amount within ten days. All damages must be reported to us immediately.

C.D.R.
Collision Damage Reducer (C.D.R.)  You may purchase C.D.R. for a cost of $25 per day per day.  This insurance will reduce your deductible from $4,000 to $600.00 for the first incident and has to be arranged before you depart with the motorhome. The customer is responsible fully for subsequent damage

Windshield:
Windshield damages are quite common and windshields will be frequently replaced at the renter’s expense ($900.00 to $1,000.00).  If the customer has  purchased the CDR, he will only be liable for the first $600.00.

Security Deposit:
We require a deposit of $500.00 which will be refunded within ten days if the vehicle is returned undamaged, clean inside and outside, with all inventory, empty sewage tanks, and full gas and propane tanks.  If the holding tanks aren’t emptied, we will deduct $100.00.  If the vehicle is dirty inside or outside, damaged or inventory missing, we will deduct the appropriate amount.

Minimum rentals:
All rates are nightly and a minimum 7 night rental is required.

Mileage packages:
Mileage package 1: 500 km for $190
Mileage package 2: 1000 km for $370

Additional mileage is calculated at 41 cents per kilometer.

Limitations:
Our motorhomes are not to be driven on unpaved highways, sand, dirt and gravel roads such as Stewart/Cassiar Highway, Bella-Coola Highway, Dempste Highway also travel to the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and on various roads in Alaska.  Travel to Mexico or Death Valley is not permitted. Vehicles are allowed on public roads only.  Damages due to driving on private and/or off roads or in restricted areas are not covered by insurance and are at the renter’s expense.  Damages caused by backing up the motorhome are strictly the renter’s responsibility.

Age:
All drivers must be over 21 years of age, hold a valid driver’s licence and possess a valid credit card.  Only drivers listed on the contract are allowed to drive.  There is no additional fee for extra drivers. For drivers younger than 25 years of age the CDR insurance is mandatory.

Guaranteed Booking:
When you confirm your booking with us, we will send you an invoice. In addition to the deposit shown at the time of booking, a further payment of $500.00 is due immediately, and the balance is due 65 days before the start of the holiday.  Monies will be processed on your supplied Mastercard or Visa. We highly recommend that you purchase cancellation and medical insurance.

Handover:
The handing over of the vehicle will occur by appointment only. Guests who arrive at the Vancouver airport after 2 p.m. need to make arrangements to spend their first night in Vancouver. Complimentary transfers from the airport or airport/downtown hotels are arranged with your booking (Complimentary transfers are not applicable for short term bookings under 10 days). We are closed on Sundays. Pick-up and drop-off on public holidays are arranged by special request and a surcharge of $75.00 applies. 

Return:
The return of the vehicle to our depot is to occur by 10:00 a.m. Changes are only possible if arrangements have been made beforehand. If the vehicle is returned later than arranged, a fee of $50.00 per hour for the first 3 hours, and $400.00 per extra day will be charged. If the renter will be late, we are to be notified as soon as possible. The vehicle is to be returned clean with empty holding tanks and full gasoline and propane tanks. Complimentary transfers (except for short term bookings under 10 days) to the airport or downtown are easily arranged.

Transfers:
Transfers to and from our property are included in our prices.  I will arrange for a taxi to meet you at the Vancouver airport or a Vancouver hotel, and bring you to the ferry terminal in Horseshoe Bay (just past West Vancouver).  After a ferry ride, we will meet you and bring you to your motorhome.  After you have returned the vehicle to us, we will arrange for a taxi to take you back to Vancouver.

If your flight arrives in Vancouver before 3 p.m, you may transfer directly from the airport to our property. If your flight arrives later, you will need to spend that night in a hotel, and the taxi will pick you up from there the following morning. 

Early Returns:
We’re sorry, but there are no refunds for early returns.

Repairs and Maintenance:
Our fleet of vehicles is in top mechanical condition.  In the unlikely event that a mechanical failure occurs, clients are authorized to proceed with the necessary repairs up to $100.00.  For expenses over that amount, clients must telephone for authorization before proceeding with repairs.  Replacement parts and receipts must be returned to us for reimbursement.  Clients assume all responsibility for damage to tires.  Oil and tire pressure must be checked at each fueling.  If the customers drivers over 4,000 km, he needs to have an oil change done on the motorhome at his cost.  Upon return of the vehicle, we will require the receipt for this service.

Convenience Kits:
Convenience kits for two persons are included in the rental price.  Additional persons will require personal convenience kits, which are priced at $90.00 per person.  The kits include dishes, cookware, pillows, bedding and towels, among other items.

Preparation Kits:
We don’t have preparation charges.  However, short term rentals for less than 10 nights, we do charge a short term rental surcharge of $150.
 

TEMPORARY CANCELLATION POLICY:

Bookings made between the 12-31 March 2020 can cancel free of charge till 14 days prior to Pick-Up.

Refund Policy:
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
- No refund for Holiday cancellation. We will gladly rebook for a different time. We highly recommend that you purchase cancellation and medical insurance.
- We will charge a $200 cancellation fee when cancelled up to 33 days before the start of the rental. The balance of what has been paid at that time will be refunded. Unfortunately, no refund can be given when cancelled 32 – 4 days before the start of the rental.

The terms and conditions could change without notice.

The following terms relate to the booking service provided to you on this website. The booking service includes this website, the software associated with the site and the facility to enter into transactions with certain parties whose content appears on the site. Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a Third Party Provider’s error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage or for any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

Your rental and use of a vehicle booked through our site will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement with the Third Party Provider. The rental agreement and any other documentation provided to you by the Third Party Provider is between you and the Third Party Provider and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in any way in relation to that agreement or your vehicle or rental service where your booking has been properly processed by us. We are not responsible or liable to you for (i) the acts or omissions of the Third Party Provider in respect of your booking or in the course of delivering the rental service to you; or (ii) any disputes in respect of your booking with that Third Party Provider or that service, except in each case to the extent that responsibility for those matters may be imposed on us by applicable law.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable Third Party Providers, we make no warranty about the fitness suitability of any Third Party Provider product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality fitness of any vehicle. If you encounter issues with the vehicle whilst on hire, you MUST report these issues directly to the relevant Third Party Provider at the earliest possible time. This will allow the Third Party Provider to remedy any issues and minimise any inconvenience to you. If you fail to report any vehicle issues during your rental, it is likely that compensation will not be offered. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our Third Party Providers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a Third Party Provider.

Where we are liable to you terms and conditions, our total liability to you will be limited to (at our option) resupply of the booking service provided to you or the dollar amount of the deposit we received from you in relation to your booking. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will availability confirm your booking email you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 2% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the Third Party Providers terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Third Party Provider in order for them to provide the requested rental services to you.

Amendments
Please note that some Third Party Providers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the Third Party Provider. In addition to the alteration policy of the Third Party Provider stated in their terms, the following charges will apply in respect of our booking service relating to that amendment:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency): 25.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A Third Party Provider can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds, credits or cancellation charges that apply are detailed in the terms and conditions of the Third Party Provider of your selected vehicle. In the event you are unsatisfied with our booking service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the Third Party Provider.

Sometimes a booking may need to be cancelled because of circumstances beyond either party’s control. For example, a weather event, public health event (including epidemic / pandemic), medical emergencies, strike, terrorist act, governmental, regional or local authority restrictions (such as restrictions on movement due to the COVID-19 pandemic) or a change in law). If this occurs, your entitlement to a credit or refund will be as provided in your Third Party Provider’s terms and conditions.

You agree that you will raise and resolve any dispute over refunds or cancellations in respect of your booking (whether initiated by you, the Third Party Provider or by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of either party, including as a result of government travel restrictions, the COVID 19 pandemic or the insolvency of your Third Party Provider) directly with the Third Party Provider. Once you have made payment for your booking, you must not seek to reverse or cancel such payment through your card issuer or its agents without our prior consent.

We shall only be liable to provide a refund to you (whether that cancellation is initiated by you, the Third Party Provider or due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of either party, including as a result of government travel restrictions, the COVID 19 pandemic or the insolvency of your Third Party Provider) to the extent that we actually receive a refund from the relevant Third Party Provider. Where refunds are due to you from a Third Party Provider, we will provide reasonable assistance to you in claiming such funds from that Third Party Provider. In that situation, you authorise us to seek such refunds from the travel provider directly and on your behalf.

Where a refund is applicable, the turnaround time from the date of your request for refund to the date you are provided with your refund may take up to 12 weeks. This is beyond our control.

We are not responsible (including in negligence) to you for any failure or delay on the part of any Third Party Provider in providing travel products to you where the booking has been properly processed.

We are not responsible or liable to you for (i) the acts or omissions of the Third Party Provider in respect of your booking or in the course of delivering the rental service to you; or (ii) any disputes in respect of your booking with that Third Party Provider or that service, except in each case to the extent that responsibility for those matters may be imposed on us by applicable law.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable Third Party Providers, we make no warranty about the fitness suitability of any Third Party Provider product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality fitness of any vehicle. If you encounter issues with the vehicle whilst on hire, you MUST report these issues directly to the relevant Third Party Provider at the earliest possible time. This will allow the Third Party Provider to remedy any issues and minimise any inconvenience to you. If you fail to report any vehicle issues during your rental, it is likely that compensation will not be offered. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our Third Party Providers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a Third Party Provider.

Where we are liable to you terms and conditions, our total liability to you will be limited to (at our option) resupply of the booking service provided to you or the dollar amount of the deposit we received from you in relation to your booking. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will availability confirm your booking email you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 2% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the Third Party Providers terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Third Party Provider in order for them to provide the requested rental services to you.

Amendments
Please note that some Third Party Providers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the Third Party Provider. In addition to the alteration policy of the Third Party Provider stated in their terms, the following charges will apply in respect of our booking service relating to that amendment:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency): 25.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A Third Party Provider can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds, credits or cancellation charges that apply are detailed in the terms and conditions of the Third Party Provider of your selected vehicle. In the event you are unsatisfied with our booking service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the Third Party Provider.

Sometimes a booking may need to be cancelled because of circumstances beyond either party’s control. For example, a weather event, public health event (including epidemic / pandemic), medical emergencies, strike, terrorist act, governmental, regional or local authority restrictions (such as restrictions on movement due to the COVID-19 pandemic) or a change in law). If this occurs, your entitlement to a credit or refund will be as provided in your Third Party Provider’s terms and conditions.

You agree that you will raise and resolve any dispute over refunds or cancellations in respect of your booking (whether initiated by you, the Third Party Provider or by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of either party, including as a result of government travel restrictions, the COVID 19 pandemic or the insolvency of your Third Party Provider) directly with the Third Party Provider. Once you have made payment for your booking, you must not seek to reverse or cancel such payment through your card issuer or its agents without our prior consent.

We shall only be liable to provide a refund to you (whether that cancellation is initiated by you, the Third Party Provider or due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of either party, including as a result of government travel restrictions, the COVID 19 pandemic or the insolvency of your Third Party Provider) to the extent that we actually receive a refund from the relevant Third Party Provider. Where refunds are due to you from a Third Party Provider, we will provide reasonable assistance to you in claiming such funds from that Third Party Provider. In that situation, you authorise us to seek such refunds from the travel provider directly and on your behalf.

Where a refund is applicable, the turnaround time from the date of your request for refund to the date you are provided with your refund may take up to 12 weeks. This is beyond our control.

We are not responsible (including in negligence) to you for any failure or delay on the part of any Third Party Provider in providing travel products to you where the booking has been properly processed.


Happy Holidays Motorhomes Insurance

Insurance: 
A liability insurance up to $5,000.000.00 is included in the rental price.  A deductible of $4,000.00 must be deposited with us before your departure. (Various damages, for example to the underbody and roof, objects on the roof, tires and rims are not covered.  Likewise, there is no coverage for break-ins, theft and vandalism.)  Please note that the required amount will be charged to your credit card.  If there is no damage to the vehicle, we will credit your charge card account  for the full amount within ten days. All damages must be reported to us immediately. 


C.D.R.:

Collision Damage Reducer (C.D.R.)  You may purchase C.D.R. for a cost of $20.00 per day.  This insurance will reduce your deductible from $4,000 to $600.00 for the first incident and has to be arranged before you depart with the motorhome. The customer is responsible fully for subsequent damage 


Windshield:

Windshield damages are quite common and windshields will be frequently replaced at the renter’s expense ($900.00 to $1,000.00).  If the customer has purchased the CDR, he will only be liable for the first $600.00.
